3 Sites for Learning to Make Web Pages

1. Page Tutor
This site explains how to make a web page in basic terms of HTML and CSS. If you are new to building web pages, this site explains the in's and out's, why's and why not's of the web page concept with lessons that make its easier to follow by breaking it down. This site also offers an index and reference guides. It has visual aids to help guide you in the right direction. The only thing I had issues with with this site was the time it took to load each lesson. I think it would be faster to find a tutorial on YouTube. To visit this site, click on www.pagetutor.com.

2. Khan Academy

I absolutely love Khan Academy and have used it for many subjects when I need something explained to me in more detail. Khan Academy has several videos where they break down, step by step, how to build a website with HTML and CSS. The videos build on each other and are very detailed. The step by step videos show examples of how everything works such as, if you build this in.... this is what it's going to look like. I will definitely be back to Khan Academy to follow those steps for my web page. To check out Khan Academy, click https://www.khanacademy.org/computing/computer-programming/html-css/intro-to-html/v/making-webpages-intro.

3. HTML Goodies
HTML Goodies is a website designed for a computer minded individual. This site definitely explains how to go about creating a web page with HTML and CSS but it's not beginner friendly. It assumes you have some computer experience which is why I would reference back to Khan Academy for the actual website building. It doesn't display good visuals or examples and it doesn't really emphasize in detail how to build a website. It seems like it would be more of a refresher if you hadn't done it in a while. If you are just looking for pointers, then this site might be exactly what you are looking for but as of my experience currently in website development, this site is not great for me. 3 Online Businesses I Visit Most Often

3 Online Businesses I Visit Most Often
1. Amazon
Amazon is an e-commerce company based out of Seattle Washington. This company sells just about anything you ever wanted, new and used. It runs similarly to ebay by having people create an Amazon account to sell their product. once the product sells, Amazon takes a small percentage of the sale price as a listing fee. All transactions are done over the internet. I like to shop on Amazon because it seems like a cleaner more organized way of shopping than on Ebay. They give you options as to if you needed your product new or used. I believe that http://www.amazon.com/ is doing it's job quite well because it is currently the leading e-commerce shopping site.

2. Kayak
Lately I've been frequently visiting the site Kayak because i'm tracking prices of flights to Denver next month. Kayak is not an online travel agent but it does offer vacation packages, flight and hotels deals and discounted rates. It makes it's money off of clicks per ad such as banners and pop-ups. It also makes money when people book a hotel from their site. I like that http://www.kayak.com/ implements a price predictor on flights giving you a good guestimate if you should buy now or wait because prices will be dropping. I think this site is doing well as I have started using it after Bing's price predictor was shut down.

3. Etsy
Etsy is an online homemade and antique store. Everything for sale is either homemade or is an antique. I think this site took off during the "support small businesses" movement started and has been doing a great job ever since. Crafters can list their product for .20$ and sell it using Etsy's checkout system for 3.5%. I like to shop at this site because you get one of a kind items that people put a lot of time and energy into instead of big box stores that mass produce everything without giving you a unique product. 3 Ways I'd Like to Make Money Online

1. Etsy
I love Etsy because I like to support small businesses with unique ideas. I have my own shop on Etsy but I haven't fully developed it yet. Etsy is available around the world and consists of people who are crafty and want to sell their product. They create an online shop with a few key words for the products to be easily found. They can offer multiple products so you look through their "store" like a regular online store. There are a few rules with the products you sell. They need to be either handmade or vintage. I bought quite a few things off of Etsy when I was planning my wedding and have continue through for birthday and Christmas presents. Its a great way to give something that is tailored for a specific person. To visit Etsy and set up your own store, click on https://www.etsy.com/.
2. Craigslist
Craigslist is an online database with classified ads categorized by country and city all around the world. Its it then broken down even farther into car, housing rentals, services, etc. I sell quite a bit on craigslist such as textbooks to recently my kitchen table. Although you need to be a bit wary and street smart as to what your buying. to check craigslist out and start shopping locally click http://www.craigslist.org/about/sites
3. Ebay
If you feel like Craigslist is not reaching enough people, you could sell on Ebay. Ebay is world wide classified/auction house where you can sell just about anything you can think of. You have options such as letting people bid on your item or letting them buy it without having to go through the bidding process with having your price already set. It's a great way to get a bigger audience and possibly buy something you didn't know existed! To check out Ebay, click on http://www.ebay.com/

I found three business that are using social media to promote their products.

1. Volcom
Volcom, www.volcom.com, is a clothing company that I follow on Instagram. Even though they have other profiles on Facebook, Twitter, and Google+, their instagram profile keeps me motivated to get outside. Instagram allows the company to promote their product through pictures and short videos to their followers who can comment on their post. Along side of displaying their clothes on people who are actually using them how they were designed to be used, Volcom also promotes the causes they are trying to help such as creating a sustainable clean ocean through hashtags and videos that guide you to a site explaining how their company is helping the problem. To visit their social media site on Instagram, go to https://instagram.com/volcom/.

2. Jet Blue
Jet Blue, http://www.jetblue.com/ is a competitively priced airline that uses social media to get its followers involved with great deals, contests and facts about the airline such as wing length. They have social media profiles on Facebook, LinkedIn, Google+, but the one I want to talk about it Twitter. Twitter is a social media site that allows people and companies to post small announcements call tweets, about what they are promoting in 140 characters or less and quit a few of those characters are used as hashtags. Post can include videos, pictures, or just a few sentences about the great deals that jet blue has to offer. Sometimes their offers extend only to their twitter followers. They also post travel ideas using their airline. To follow their twitter page, click on https://twitter.com/jetblue. Happy Tweeting!

3. Red Bull
Red Bull, www.redbull.com is an energy drink that highly promotes extreme sports and what better way to do that then on one of the highest used social media site available, Facebook. Facebook is a site where you can create a profile, post pictures, videos, share content, and keep up with family and friends. Business can use it promote their company and get their followers involved in contests or keep them updated on new products the company is offering.
